Field of Geothermal Engineering

His beginnings were among the least, but given a good start by NONAS (now NORSU Bayawan-Santa Catalina Campus), where he graduated as high school salutatorian, he determined not to go by the oblique path of the lost, nor remain with the inertia of the last. With purposeful vision and unflagging determination, he took the road of education towards a hopefully better life. By dint of personal resolve, undeterred by the constant struggle against need and lack, he overcame these obstacles, regarding their very presence not as a barrier but as a bridge to cross over towards success. Realizing that his Geothermal Engineering degree and graduate studies in Mathematics would likely take him to a fruitful but limited destination, and seeing that the prevailing call of the times was for technological expertise and proficiency, he studied Mechanical Engineering, pursuing it with the same intensity and vigor that had marked all his previous upward endeavors. Not only did he get his mechanical engineering degree; he emerged in 2002 as Topnotcher Number Eight out of a group of 2,607 board examinees. Such talent was bound to be spotted by industry. He was a collegiate instructor, when he was hired in 2003 by the PNOC Energy Development Corporation for a variety of jobs ranging from drilling fluids technician to reservoir engineer. The Philippines soon proved too small for his demonstrated ability. Weatherford Asia Pacific, the giant intentional drilling firm, hired him in 2005 as Junior Under¬balanced Drilling Engineer and Project Engineer for the company’s projects in the Philippines, Indonesia and China. As a case drilling expert, he was next employed by Tesco Corporation – Asia Pacific Business Unit, first as Operations Engineer in 2006, then as Operations Coordinator in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2008, and Drilling Engineer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2009. Through unfaltering resolve, purposeful determination, and estimable zeal, he has honored his parents and lifted up his family. In concretizing in his person the highest ideals of his alma mater, he has rendered her great honor and immeasurably raised her prestige, and has made himself a sterling example to follow for the great many who today stand where he first began.
